Quick Tip: Setting up the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) for your Chatbot Forms

Introduction

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union and the European Economic Area. It also addresses the transfer of personal data outside the EU and EEA areas. The primary aim of GDPR is to give control to individuals over their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business by unifying the regulation within the EU.

Adding GDPR Compliance to Your Forms

Step 1: Access Your Forms

  • To begin, go to the forms section of your chatbot and select one of your forms. You should see the new GDPR setting.

Step 2: Enable the GDPR Setting

  • Initially, the GDPR setting will be toggled off. Toggle it on to enable GDPR compliance for your form.

Step 3: Add GDPR Text

  • Once the GDPR setting is enabled, you have the option to add your GDPR text. This text will appear in your form, informing users about your data protection practices.

Step 4: Add Policy Page Link

  • Next, you need to provide a link to your primary privacy policy page. This link ensures that users can click to view your full privacy policy.

Step 5: Privacy Policy Text

  • In the GDPR settings, add the privacy policy text that will display in your form. For example, "View privacy policy here." Users can click on this text to view your privacy policy.

Step 6: User Consent Checkbox

  • The GDPR setting also includes a checkbox that users must check to consent to your data privacy policy when filling out the form.

Step 7: Save Changes

  • After configuring the GDPR settings, click "Save Changes" to apply the updates to your form.

Conclusion

We have added the GDPR option in forms to help you stay compliant with data protection regulations. This feature allows you to collect user consent and ensure your data handling practices are transparent.
