Quick Tip: How to add Multiple Channels to the Initial Message

This guide shows how to add and configure Multiple Channels to the Initial Message, ensuring a seamless interactive experience.

Adding a CTA button to your chatbot’s welcome message makes it easy for users to begin a conversation. Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to set up a Start button in AskSpot Chatbots.

Step 1: Add a Channel

  1. Go to Channels in your AskSpot dashboard.

  2. Click Add Channel and select Question Channel.

  3. Name it Start (or any other call-to-action you prefer).

  4. Leave the response field empty if you want AI to generate a reply.

  5. Click Create to save it.

Step 2: Move the Button to the Welcome Message

  1. Find the new channel at the bottom of your chatbot setup.

  2. Turn off its status to remove it from the bottom list.

  3. Go to Settings > General and find the Initial Message section.

  4. Select your Start channel from the dropdown list.

  5. Rename it if needed (e.g., "Let’s Start") and save the changes.

Step 3: Test Your Chatbot

  1. Refresh the chatbot window.

  2. Check that the Start button appears in the welcome message.

  3. Click it to trigger the chatbot conversation.

Bonus: Add Other Channels

You can also add a form button (e.g., an order form) in the same way:

  1. Create a form channel under Channels.

  2. Turn off its status.

  3. Add it to the Initial Message section.

Now your chatbot is ready with a start button to engage users instantly. Let us know if you have any questions!
