How to Use Analytics

In this article, we will walk you through each metric and explain how they can help you gauge and improve your chatbot's performance.

Navigating to the Analytics Tab

First, let's start by navigating to the analytics tab on your AskSpot dashboard. Here, you'll see several important metrics that provide insights into your chatbot's activity.

Total Characters

The first metric we will look at is Total Characters. This metric shows the number of characters processed by your chatbot. It represents the amount of information your bot has loaded and handled, giving you an idea of the bot's data capacity. For instance, when you add a new Q&A to your chatbot, you will see the total characters increase as the new information is processed.

Total Messages

Next is Total Messages. This metric indicates the total number of messages sent through the chatbot. It tells you how many individual messages have been exchanged between users and the chatbot, helping you understand the level of interaction. For example, if a user sends a message asking for the location, the total messages count will increase by one.

Total Loads

Total Loads counts how many times the chatbot widget has been loaded on your website or through a shared chatbot link. This metric tracks the visibility of your chatbot, showing how often it is seen by visitors. Loading the chatbot on a new page or refreshing the page where the chatbot is embedded will increase this count.

Total Chats

The Total Chats metric shows the number of sessions started with your chatbot. Each session represents a new interaction or conversation initiated by a user. Starting a new chat session by refreshing the page or opening the chatbot in a new browser will increment this number.

Total Removed

Lastly, Total Removed tells you how many times users have exited or removed the chatbot from their view. This metric is useful for understanding how often users choose to stop interacting with the chatbot. For example, clicking the 'X' to close the chatbot will increase this count.

Summary of Metrics

To summarize these metrics:

  • Total Characters: The volume of information processed by the bot.

  • Total Messages: The number of individual messages exchanged.

  • Total Loads: How often the chatbot widget has been seen or loaded.

  • Total Chats: The number of sessions started with the chatbot.

  • Total Removed: How many times the chatbot has been exited or removed.

Understanding these metrics can help you optimize your chatbot's performance and enhance user experience. I hope this article has better explained how analytics work here in AskSpot. Thank you so much for reading!
