Quick Tip: How to Use Tags Efficiently

Learn how to effectively organize and manage your sources with tags in AskSpot. Watch this quick tutorial for practical tips and step-by-step guidance.

Why Use Tags?

Tags allow you to categorize your sources, making it easier to find and manage specific types of information. For example, if you have 50 sources listed for a business, you can categorize them using tags, which simplifies searching and organizing.

Step-by-Step Guide to Using Tags

  1. Identify the Sources to Tag

    • Determine which sources you want to categorize. For instance, if you want to tag links related to a contact page, identify these links first.

  2. Create a New Tag

    • In your AskSpot dashboard, navigate to the section where your sources are listed.

    • Select the sources you want to tag. For example, if you have three links related to contact information, select these links.

    • Click on the option to create a new tag. Enter a descriptive name for the tag, such as "Contact Information."

  3. Add the Tag to Your Sources

    • Once the tag is created, you can add it to the selected sources.

    • Click on the plus sign next to each source, select the "Contact Information" tag, and then click "Add Tag."

  4. Repeat for Other Sources

    • Repeat the tagging process for any other sources you want to categorize under the same tag.

    • Ensure that all relevant sources are tagged appropriately for easier access later.

  5. Filter Sources by Tag

    • To see the power of tags in action, use the filter option to view sources by their tags.

    • Click on the tag name, such as "Contact Information," to filter and display only the sources related to that tag.

  6. Manage Your Tags

    • You can manage your tags by clicking on the tag button in your dashboard.

    • This section shows all the tags you have created for all your businesses. You can add descriptions to tags or create new tags directly from this section.

    • For instance, to create a new tag like "Website Collected Info," enter the name and description, then click "Create." This new tag will be available for tagging existing sources.

  7. Edit or Delete Tags

    • If you need to edit or delete a tag, you can do so from the tag management section. Simply select the tag, make your changes, or choose to delete it.

Example of Using Tags

Let's say you want to tag all contact information sources. Here’s how you can do it:

  • Identify the contact information links.

  • Create a tag named "Contact Information."

  • Add this tag to each contact information link.

  • Filter your sources by "Contact Information" to quickly access all related links.
